Graham Alison's book Destined for War fails to reason correctly about China. First, Alison talks endlessly about Chinese leader XiJiPing who will leave office within a year or two and be succeeded by a military
hardliner graduate of Tsinghua or Beijing University who is not afraid to tangle with the United States in a major economic or military war.
Second, Alison underestimates the battle toughness and readiness of the Chinese PLA men and women. In Haiti, the Chinese PLA demonstrated that they each died to the last man within a 24 hour timeframe to preserve their UN humanitarian mission mandate with honor and without crying in the face of natural disaster.
Third, Alison ignores the racist Trump and Steve Bannon superiority which is inflicted asymmetrically on Chinese Americans currently . Everyone knows that Americans of all races are treated like royalty in China and given every opportunity to succeed and have fun doing so.
Alison uses a racist Yankee prism to downplay China's shocking socioeconomic ascendancy . Fourth, Alison uses antiquated Western Peloponnesian War analogies to argue that China can be defeated . Sadly, if Alison is listened to , milllions of people will lose their lives .
