ElM, you are fooled by an illusion. That picture is fake. China is as safe as houses. Good as gold.

The Great Wall did indeed save China because look, it's still there and has got about 1.3 billion people in it [give or take 100 million or so] = about 20% of the world's population. That's a LOT of people. With rising GDP and goodness. The hideous hutongs have gone and swishy luxury high rises have replaced them, with wireless Cyberspace throughout and optical fibre internet joining it all together.

A couple of decades ago, people would say that China was 100 years behind the so-called Free World. I argued that nowhere is more than 20 years behind because a baby born cares nothing about the past and looks to the future and adopts the best things available at the time.

So China never wasted time with V8 Yank Tanks and twisted pair telegraph lines. Nor IBM mainframe computers or DC8 airliners. They are going to be running uberized auto-piloted electric cars, they use CDMA/OFDM wireless Cyberspace and super efficient airliners. They are producing megatons of photovoltaics.

Gung Ho,
Mqurice
