DVD Drive Sales Expected to Impact Sales of Other Optical Storage Solutions
The 1997 Optical Storage Outlook, released by Freeman Associates, asserts that CD-ROM drive shipments will begin a steady decline in 1998, to be complemented by growth in DVD-ROM drive shipments. By 1999, DVD drive shipments will equal CD-ROM drive shipments, according to In-Stat forecasts.
