Meanwhile, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 21.49% YTD (vs. up 20.00% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 17.92% YTD (vs. up 17.06% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 32.44% YTD (vs. up 30.58% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed up 14.30% YTD (vs. up 14.07% YTD a week ago).
HRS’s portfolio, a PIRS groupie, vaulted back into the Contest lead and is now up a formidable 73.91% YTD. BIOADD’s portfolio, up 65.36% YTD, dropped to second place and ROBO’s portfolio, up 62.12% YTD, held on to third place.
At Friday's close, 45 of the 48 Contest portfolios were now in the green, with 29 still beating the NBI and 15 beating the SPSIBI.
The 195 Contest portfolio stock picks have an average YTD gain of 20.14% and a median YTD gain of 12.26%, with 122 of the 195 picks up for the year.
