There was an incident near where I live that made national news a few weeks ago, in which Amazon was required to produce recordings of things Alexa "heard". Apparently, each sound (even outside the "Alexa" escape sound) is sent to to Amazon's big computer in the sky which then translates it. They keep the sound it monitors for some period, and it was the subject of a subpoena.

I think Amazon ended up forking it over.

Big Brother is here; we just don't really know it yet.
