Excellent post TV.
I think one of the major factors for VTSS which will allow them to weather the asian typhoon, that will swamp other companies, is the huge backlog in orders. Those asian companies who cancel orders with VTSS will simply move to the back of the line and those companies who can pay for their orders will be moved up. VTSS's specialized chips are in high demand and are being used in the high-end, high-bandwidth applications. Those applications are needed NOW, not tomorrow.

We must keep an eye on the company's receivables, as this may be an indication that some of those companies who have products already delivered to them may be slow in paying and therefore could put a temporary strain on the bottom line. With their current fab running at full capacity, I don't think VTSS will run into major trouble because of asia. One of the first indications of trouble will be a significant drop in the company's order backlog. So far this has not been a problem.

ATMEL strength is in programmable logic. There are quite a few companies who can provide an alternative source. VTSS's GaAs IC's are very unique and are not available from other sources. TQNT is attempting to cut into VTSS's market, with little success todate.
