This epitomizes why I recommend everyone get a vendor independent email account. I noticed I've been using Gmail since 2006 and really like it. There are others of course but the important thing is to migrate to your new email account and notify all your contacts, preferably 3 to 6 months before you actually pull the plug on your ISP. A long lead time makes it easy on yourself and also allows you to re-intensify your email change with the 30% of your friends who will ignore your comments. At the end of it all at least 5 to 10% of your friends will still have ignored your email change, but then that's the way things are.
