7/7/2017 Contest update
On his way to Paris, when President Trump was asked why he wants his Mexican border wall to be transparent, he gave this explanation:
“When they throw large sacks of drugs over, and if you have people on the other side of the wall, you don’t see them — they hit you on the head with 60 pounds of stuff? It’s over. As crazy as that sounds, you need transparency through that wall.”
Incroyable! Just add the word “Street” after “wall” and President Trump has also explained how the stock market works and why Wall Street should be regulated.
Meanwhile, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 24.71% YTD (vs. up 21.49% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 19.46% YTD (vs. up 17.92% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 33.72% YTD (vs. up 32.44% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed up 17.26% YTD (vs. up 14.30% YTD a week ago).
HRS’s portfolio, up 78.78% YTD, had another fine week and held on to the Contest lead. ROBO’s portfolio, up 70.10% YTD, moved back to second place and BIOADD’s portfolio, up 66.49% YTD, slipped to third place.
At Friday's close, 45 of the 48 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 32 now beating the NBI and just 13 beating the sizzling SPSIBI.
The 195 Contest portfolio stock picks have an average YTD gain of 21.95% and a median YTD gain of 12.29%, with 120 of the 195 picks up for the year.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: PPHM did 1-7 reverse split.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
