As far as I know he's never said the US is just as bad a murderer of journalists as Putin is, never hoped Putin would be his new best friend, never defended Putin about the polonium poisoning of Litvinenko or the Malaysian airliner shootdown, never promised to review sanctions on Russia. All things Trump has done. In fact, he along with 97 other Senators voted to take away the Presidents power to lift sanctions on Russia. That should answer your question. Trump is compromised and is being blackmailed. The surprise settling of the money laundering suit against the guys who had Magnitsky killed is evidence of that.
