TokyoMex: Thanks. When I get a reply with answers to all my questions I'll post them. One item in my e-mail I don't think has been brought up on this thread is nanoscale catalysts. A company in California named Catalytica was awarded what I recall was a $2 million grant by the Department of Energy to develop nanoscale catalysts for GTL production. I've been reading some about this but don't know enough yet to make a decent description. What I have read is that it's promising. I believe the group which is doing the development is a subsidiary of Catalytica called "Catalytica Advanced Technologies" catalytica-inc.com In the second paragraph they mention methane to methanol conversion. I don't know if that's the extent of their use of nanoscale catalysts for GTL conversion. I'll try and give them a call in the next few days. froland.
