Brumar,
If govt can't stop technology from giving secure communications to terrorists and criminals why are you worried about it?
Same reason why I'm worried about "wealth redistribution" even though government can never redistribute wealth the way they intend to.

Imagine the iPhone 8 being deemed illegal by the Trump administration because it doesn't come with a backdoor that "only the government" can access.
