About the partnership:

Heilongjiang Liumao Graphite Group, operator of one of the world's largest graphite mines, has recognized the need to upgrade its output-to deliver high-purity graphite, commanding top prices in the world's markets.

Since the 1930s, Heilongjiang Liumao Graphite Group has been a government enterprise, but now China is moving rapidly toward privatization and encouraging foreign participation through tax incentives.

Integrated Carbonics Corp. will be providing the capital and technological assistance required to fully exploit the Liumao resource. As a result, the companies have concluded a joint-venture agreement: Integrated Carbonics will provide 80 percent of the capital required for technological advances and will receive 80 percent of the equity and profits generated by new, value-added production. Liumao Graphite will provide graphite feed stock in quantities necessary to achieve production objectives, at prices geared to produce maximum profits.

The joint-venture contract between Integrated Carbonics Corp. and Heilongjiang Liumao Graphite Group covers a period of 30 years, during which time initial annual production is estimated at 3,000 tons of high-purity graphite, at a market value (by current standards) in excess of US$30,000,000.
