Well, home theater is a different animal. You get your dolby digital receiver, DVD player, five speaker surround plus subwoofer, and you've got amazing sound. But guess what? Joe Six-pack ain't gonna buy that either. You bring up a good point and I agree that when DVD players reach $250, and someone needs to replace their CD player (as opposed to their VCR) the DVD player will be the logical choice. Notice how it comes back to price ... I keep harping on this pricing thing, and some people have accused me of being an economist or accountant. I'm neither. I just go into the local Best Buy and see who is buying things they can't afford on those credit cards that will eventually lead to bankruptcy. Joe Six-pack and company are streaming into those Wal-Marts and buying lotsa stuff, but it has to look affordable to them. CUBE can't sell millions of DVD chips without millions of DVD players flying off the Wal-Mart shelves. You and I can run a DVD-ROM drive to our television set, but JSP can hardly program the VCR, he'll need that cheap DVD player. With ZiVA, maybe he'll get it.
