This is not true - it certainly seems to have been sinister. Between last night and this morning 3 of my friends - all Trump voters - were angry at Trump, for having private meetings with Putin.

My reply was a) it didn't happen, and b) who TF thinks they can order the president of the US to whom to talk and to whom not to talk.

Personally, I'd WANT Trump and Putin to develop a relationship. This might decrease the odds that the two of them may some day blow the whole place sky high.
