The CBOE VIX (NYSEARCA:VXX) fell to fresh 24-year lows Friday, as traders parsed through mixed corporate earnings.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Volatility Index declined 2.5% o 9.34,
having traded below 10 for the entire week. The so-called fear index is trading at its lowest level in more than two decades.

Ultralow volatility signals renewed upside for US stocks, which continue to trade near record levels.

Investor fear is nearing an all-time low, based on the VIX index. This suggests further upside is in store for US stocks amid the height of corporate earnings season.
