Tim, I stumbled across a related item on Laser Power (LPWR).. Turns out, the University of California, San Diego, for their annual "Most Innovative New Products Awards" included two products in the "High Tech Electronics" Category: 1. XLNT Inc.'s Millenium 4000, a fault-tolerant Gigabit Ethernet Switch. 2. Laser Power's (LPWR) lightweight series MLM Microlasers According to another source, LPWR has an excellent reputation in high power lasers (of the CO2 and similar ilk), though he was not familiar with this new, non-DFB solid-state "micro-laser". So for those trying to catch up with the original discussion: biz.yahoo.com Do you have some way of pursuing this further, Tim?
