What really matters is price. Natural gas and oil are very affordable right now and likely to stay that way for a good long while. You know a great thing about free markets is they give price signals. If we were to really ever run out of fossil fuels, the price would rise and provide incentives to find other energy solutions.

There's a saying, the cure for high prices is high prices. It applies to low prices too.

Price signals, not central planning is what works.
