I saw an ad in USA Today Business section. On the back there was an ad for Sony desktop and laptop. It is common knowledge that most Sony machines are rather expensive. Selling around $2100 or more. Well, guess what? That's no longer the case. $200 rebate and $500 price break, bringing the total cost of the system to $1499 (Zip included, of course.)

What's my point? What is IOM charging for the drive now? Are they practicually giving it away? Has cost come down dramatically on the manufactoring of the drive?
