Entertain this thought:
The catalyst for ending the bull market comes in the form of an event that would cause the loss of trust in the USD. One potential beneficiary of such event/trend is precious metals. Maybe bullion first and later PM stocks.

For several years, real estate has been one of the primary places where excess money has been pouring into, and probably this will continue to be the case after such an event with the caveat being possible rising interest rates offsetting the benefit in certain areas of the RE investment market.
