Bitcoin has proved itself beyond a concept to a reality. The key question is will it survive the long run. Those who say "it is nothing" either haven't done their homework or don't understand why it can "store value". At the same time, I totally understand that someone who's responsibility is based in traditional asset management would shy away from Bitcoin at this time. 5000% swings in something that he doesn't understand says it all. Buying into a startup bio-tech that's popped 5000% would make many state the same thing. Tulip or value added service? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
