RIK - HAZ / To Gobble or be Gobbled

Interesting comments offered by analyst on subject "Feature Story" at The Korner (Market activity ending Tuesday). Did you see it. I think the companies mentioned were more than just guessing - meaning he has a clue who is pursuing and those being pursued. He mentions Orbit (who everyone knew about), but also was right on about Northrock.

A couple observations. Orbit shareholders should be very, very happy with the final deal. Stuff the cash in reserve, pending later year re-investment. Orbit CEO LaMond says he will be starting another natural gas producing company. I'm not a fan of his, but I suspect there is money to be made if one can purchase shares (private placement) prior to listing. Because of his background and experience, shares will probably sell at a good premium after listing on an exchange. Much like Tethys Energy.

I don't know to what extent that his role with Diaz will be. Could be part of the bigger picture for him.

In regards to Renaissance Energy - that is also on the analysts list of active prowlers. His list, in general, is logical. Most are companies whoi were not involved with acquisitions in 1997. Others are very fast growing concerns who can justify taking on debt.

Also, worth mentioning. Beware of the debt ladden companies in 1998.
When performing due diligence, look at statistics on a debt adjusted basis.
