Before we get all up in arms, perhaps we should get our facts together!! Please read the e-mail below from 1997. I hope OUR DD is better on CVIA!

This is an automated response to the message you sent to isp@fcc.gov.
We established this mailbox for informal comments about usage of the public switched telephone network by Internet access and information service providers for a proceeding on this matter in 1997.

If you are responding to a message stating that local phone companies have asked the FCC for permission to impose per-minute charges for Internet access, please be aware that this information is out of date. The FCC decided in May 1997 NOT to allow imposition of interstate access charges on Internet service providers. There is no comment period currently open in this proceeding.

More information on Access Charges and the ISP proceeding
is available at

Look for more features and announcements on our Web site,
<http://www.fcc.gov/>, in the future!

(thanks to you Mike. The voting time taken on this side issue
may be very short indeed! Updated yesterday to that?
I wonder what it said 2 days ago. As for my DD, I'm really
just into inferring what we've already got on record and
the truth of that. The further DD is handeled by others here
to my satisfaction, like you just did!
It's leaving me comfortable to do what comes up
as i decide when and if i will buy. In fact, it's
probably best to think of me that way when i begin the posting
about your question. And thanks for your DD on #s 1499, 1500, & 1501.
That's the way it seems to be best done here, and with your added
involvement I'm gratified to see we are breaking new ground.
welcome once more to the thread. I personally appreciate
your contact! - Dave)
