Well, tomorrow we'll see if Apple's strong report and the implication that the new iPhone will be delivered at least more or less on time makes a difference in TechLand.

17:56 ET - Concerns about Apple(AAPL) delivering its next iPhone on time fell flat as the company not only matches but exceeds analysts projections for the period. It projects earnings for the current quarter of $49B to $52B. Analysts had been girding for AAPL to project as little as $45B, which analysts said would indicate it had run into production issues on a new iPhone and wouldn't be able to deliver it in the final weeks of September. Though it appears AAPL will be able to get at least some of its new iPhones into the market the final weeks of September, it isn't completely out of the woods. The company last reported a range of $3B for F4Q in 2014, the year it introduced the iPhone 6, a product that ran into supply constraints. (tripp.mickle@wsj.com)
