I feel a shiver run up my spine,
I hear a warning bell peal, hear it chime?

After a while a bear trap starts to form,
New lows and no new highs on rallies,
Sentiment shifts and the fear starts to come,
Suddenly stock charts are heading down,
I see 401k folks now frown

After a while Goldilocks can't continue,
We'll have inflation or deflation,
Exogenous shocks seem like they're overdue,
Middle East, Bosnia, and China too,
The risk reward ratio hints that we're through

It's been happy days, is this the end?
Folks are convinced that they're safe in the long run,
Stocks over time, they will all go up,
But if they bought '29; '68,
Fifteen or more years they had to wait,
Just to get back to even, what a fate
