I have asked a couple of times, on another forum, if anyone has followed the combined effect of the volatile won and the volatile indexes on the value of Korean mutual funds quoted in dollars. So far the only answer I have is a mild rebuke for being a short-term speculator (which I am not). I am especially interested in the open-end Matthews Korea Fund--where there's the added complication of Templeton's having handed them a huge amount of cash in the last month. I would like the closed end funds except that they are at premiums of better than 50%. The Matthews fund (MAKOX) has not sent me any information despite two phone calls, so maybe they are getting a lot of business.
