She probably just thought it was a demo of what an eclipse might look like.

Kinda reminds me of a story about my son. I took him to the Griffith Park Observatory for one of their shows when he was about 3 or 4. Excellent production of what it might be like if you were in a spaceship traveling through the universe visiting planets, stars, nebula, comets, etc. The show starts out with the seats being reclined backwards so you can watch the ceiling where the night sky is projected.

The minute that happened and the spaceship "took off," he started screaming wanted to be let out of the spaceship. I had to take him out of the theater.
