Dave, I wish I could find the full text of the article. On the surface it sounded so wonderful - all these hard working middle class people bringing in their rings, bracelets and gold coins and either selling or donating the gold to save their country. It was sad to see how easily the South Koreans were manipulated by calls for patriotism into giving up their gold to the very government and power brokers who stole their money and created this crises in the first place.

You said it, it was a confiscation of gold - just done by manipulating the emotions of the middle class sheep.

Are we assuming that when the crisis hits the U.S. that our government won't find a way to either make our gold untradeable or confiscate it? I've invested long enough to have seen some profit not materialize despite my best planning because the rule makers change the rules for some very seemingly good and rational reason. Obviously has made me very skeptical.

Richard
