Chomsky's worn a lot of hats in his lifetime, but I think of him generally as a leftist who has written and acted with sympathy toward anarchist movements. He's considered an anti-imperialist and Occupy supporter. Since Antifa is an anarchist group, it surprised me that he was critical of them.

I don't have the link, but I read last night an interview with a main player in Antifa. Think last name was Crow.
I was left thinking of the group as being Nihilists as much as anything else. They're against alot of things, inc. the police, the rule of law, and all forms of government. One thing that jumped out was his views toward property. He condones, even encourages, the destruction of property, and he used store windows as an example. He said Antifa is against violence and discrimination and store windows are a "violent symbol of the unequal distribution of wealth" in America. There was more to it than this, but it all made my head spin in terms of lack of logic and self-awareness.
