You can try downloading and running the free Malwarebytes 3.0 app for Mac. I don't know of any malware that sets your browser to auto launch, but it can't hurt to run it and it may find other malware lurking on your computer.

It gives a 30-day free trial to the real-time protection mode (which is a paid subscription), but otherwise the program is free to use and you simply run it whenever you want even after the 30 days are up.
