One thing that's pretty remarkable in those Burry letters is how he was up 40-50% a year when the S&P was off 20% a year - admittedly with a pretty active pro-Graham strategy. Then again, maybe it's not so surprising given the drubbing value stocks had in the half-decade prior.. I've been hearing that familiar ditty "the death of value investing" the past few months. Though it should be conceded that most of the authors refer to Fama and French, who contributed about as much to human progress as Masters and Johnson.
