Wow, thanks for the lesson on hurricanes. I suppose that's why they form as we head into August and September.

There's a variable called ACE: Accumulate Cyclonic Energy. It is a measure of the intensity and duration of tropical systems. Here's the global ACE going back to 1972. There are spikes with natural ocean cycles in Pacific (ENSO) and Atlantic (AMO), but no relation to CO2.
