In my opinion, your scenario is plausible but in any event, the operations at kabwe must be reengineered to lower the cost of production to make money. Furnances need to be reworked, transportation of the slag from kitwe to kabwe must be done more efficiently. I have always hoped that an INCO or Ango American would purchase the concession from Dil to keep the kitwe slag potential off the market. If someone with deep pockets and better technology came along, they might just be able to tap that 2.5 billion in contained cobalt that is sitting in that giant hill of slag. I would in any event try to move the processing facility from kabwe to kitwe (but at a cost of several million dollars).
