5 Reasons why Home Your Home WiFi Sucks
1. You’re Not Using Your Router On 5GHz BandMany people use 2.4GHz frequency band of their routers but this band is not good anymore. Apart from being slower than 2.4 GHz band, this band can be easily interfered by other routers or even by other devices like cordless phones, microwave etc. That’s why you should switch to 5GHz Band of your router.

2. Your Current Router Is OldOk, now you’re using a 5GHz band of the router. But there’s one problem. In traditional routers, 5GHz band has less range than 2.4GHz Band. That’s why you probably will need to upgrade your router.

3. Your Router Is Wrongly PlacedYou can have a top-notch wifi router and would still have connectivity issues if you won’t place your router according to a plan. There’s no technical thing involved in this step. All you need to do is to place your router is in the centre of your house and away from other metal objects and devices.

4. Your PC Is Malware-infectedThis step isn’t for your overall home wifi but for the slow wifi on your PC. Many times we unintentionally install a malware/virus while surfing the web. Apart from slowing down your PC overall, these viruses also hurt wifi connectivity on your PC. That’s why you should install a good antivirus and get rid of those viruses.

5. Your Router Is Running On Power-Saving ModeMany times you get a less wifi range simply because you router is running on a “power-saving” mode. This mode helps the router to consume less power but also forces it to reduce its broadcasting power. This results in less wifi range. To enjoy max range, disable this setting.
