Breitbart had a field day with this this morning. They used it to point out the Republicans who either stayed silent after Charlottesville, leaving Trump to twist in the wind, or Republicans like Romney who released a moral condemnation of Trump.

After I read Romney's actual statement, I was struck by this. I now think the rush to abandon or criticize Trump was possibly a misunderstanding of the video coming out on Saturday morning. I think a lot of people thought the fighting they saw was White Supremacists attacking bystanders, local citizens, etc. I think they may have confused the Antifa element as being part of the White Supremacist element.

All the authorities re Charlottesville, including the governor, could be in for lots of trouble. This morning I heard that the Dept. of Homeland Security had sent a strongly worded warning to Charlottesville to prepare for violence by having the police ready.
