Back to the business of making money. Premiums (the price paid versus the market value of the underlying portfolio) on Asian Closed End Funds are becoming incredible. Indonesia Fund, Korea Fund, Thai Fund Malaysia Fund et cetera. The list grows monthly.

Some premiums have been very high for over six months. Thai Fund (TTF) has hovered between 40% and 80% since July. While the NAV's go down, the prices don't, yet there is solid and consistent trading activity.

Who the he__ is buying these closed end funds and why?

Having been short several of them, I have a keen interest in any replies.
