Great question, Joseph, but it really is easy to tell if you know what to look for and can read the signs reliably... The internals are strong, the advancing NYSE issues are increasing even when the major market indices are ticking lower... for example, the patient may look healthy but the x-rays show illness, or the patient looks ill but the x-rays show internal strength and good health... Right now, these markets are showing solid and healthy internal signs, there's fresh buying coming into this market on a broad basis... I'm monitoring no less that 75 different market groups daily for an optimized portfolio, I can see what they're doing every day... look at the healthcare group, look at the aerospace and defense group, look at the interest rate group, look at the retail and consumer group, and so on... Okay, so now that I said what I did, this market is probably right at the top tick of the century!!! LOL!!! (gulp)... GZ
