I noticed you stayed far away from guru...good choice. You know nothing about science...and fool no one.

Today is the last day of the Greenland snow/ice cycle. To recap, Greenland accumulated nearly 200 Gt (or 60%) above the 30-year average. The snow/ice line treaded the upper range until August, when the pattern flipped...this caused the upper-level dip/trough to form over east coast U.S. and enhance the ridge over Pacific NW.

Again, when looking at Harvey stalling over the coastline, it was clear as day that this was due to the plunging of anomalously cold air over eastern US in August (after bottling up over Greenland), forming an upper-level trough and preventing Harvey from going inland.

Also, 960-mb low is due to hit Aleutian islands. This is a winter-style low pressure system deriving energy from a strong Pacific jet-stream. It's rare to see these in August. I point this out, since article blaming weather events on global warming is coming from a mouthpiece with an agenda, there is no interest in real science what-so-ever.
