the when to sell decisions are the last step IMO . . most folks will never get past the two first and more crucial steps . . the first is identifying the handful of stocks out of the many hundreds to buy . . the clear big winners are the ones I want to own . . it's all about the story the second step is knowing when to buy . . there's a time when the odds favor the biggest wins . . these situations are always the same . . execution is simple few buy then but those that do often leave too early . . buy late and you will experience many situations where you can get shaken out . . . late purchases require developing buying/selling ideas to address hundreds situations . . the gains if very good at addressing the many situations still aren't anywhere near those made if buying early in the move . . there's a period of six to twelve plus months when the stories share prices are going to zoom at their fastest pace . . you have to be in when it occurs . . . knowing the story is getting better and better in the weeks and months that follow the initial purchase keeps me from selling all and leaving . . it forces me to repurchase any shares sold when the rules say sell some . . . I'll share some selling thoughts as they apply to the best stories in another message . . . my thoughts for what they are worth . .
