I was reading up today on Nissan's new electric car:

Nissan has launched a longer-range version of its best-selling Leaf electric vehicle, as it fights growing competition in the electric car market.

Its going up to 150 miles.

This got me thinking... What are the ranges of E Cars:

11 Electric Cars With Most Range

The new Tesla Model 3 delivers an EPA rated all-electric range of 220 miles (350 km) and the long range model delivers 310 miles (500 km).

The new Tesla Model 3 costs $35000

The new Leaf costs $28,000

No wonder the Tesla has back orders up the yin yang. Before the leaf no one even got close to Tesla's range. Even the new leaf isn't that competitive given the quality one thinks of when one thinks of Tesla and the fact their charging systems will be all over the place.

Presumably Tesla puts a lot more batteries power in their cars on the expectation their plant will lower the price enough their cars will allow profits above those of the other companies.

A fellow investor here advised me he's gung-ho on Tesla... its got me thinking he maybe right.
