| | | For our windows we have three things going for them...
1) Our windows are thick and will only show thin cracks, they will not shatter like regular glass, and they're rated up to a category 3 hurricane,
2) We have what's called elephant skin over all the windows, that blocks out all the UV while allowing all the light to come into the house, that is also good up to a category 3...
3) Then we have accordion shutters that are always attached to the window frames, so all we need to do is slide them shut like an accordion and lock them, that's good for above cat 5...
Combined, I think our windows are safe... our house is like a castle fortress, it will be difficult for it to take on damage from any flying object, and the roof is very securely tied down with extra framing...
As far as supplies, we have more than enough fresh water, and we also live on a fresh water lake and we have our own water purifier, so we can take water from the lake and purify it ourselves if we run out of prepared water... it's made by Sawyer, it can make sewer water drinkable...
We have enough food stocks and other necessities to hold us for several months...
And of course, we have an arsenal of weaponry with plenty of ammo set aside for unwanted intruders and poachers should they decide to visit unannounced...
We both have military training and we're skilled in primitive survival skills and methods, so we can go without power, food, and water for a very long time and still live comfortably with foraging if we must, we've done that before, but I don't think it will come to that, not even close to it...
So, we'll see if anything out of the ordinary happens...
