You may recall that Democrats wanted a "lockbox" for Social Security so that money couldn't be spent on wars or tax cuts. The media scoffed at the idea because the media is run by profit driven corporations that wanted more free money (tax cuts).

The future is unknown so I don't spend a lot of time fretting about what might happen. The debt is real and there's nothing we can do to undo it. Historians will blame tax cuts for our demise.

If we got rid of the republican party (as one solution) there would be no more tax cuts and Dems could begin the long process of raising taxes and fixing our social programs.

I'd remind you that around 80% of the people who work for Wal Mart are on government programs. This is what happens when businesses refuse to raise wages. Wal Mart has increased wages finally so we don't know yet how many are still on welfare but it's bad businesses that are creating a huge chunk of the problem.

Taxpayers can't subsidize them forever.
