There's a trick to this. Those in the publishing business know how to manipulate the numbers. Before the book comes out, you pre-order 50,000 copies, which is then counted as "sold." Then you cancel the order. Then you place an order for 1000 copies 3 days later to push it up the chart, and then cancel the order. If you have a foundation, you buy another 1000 copies to pass out to the people who make a donation to the foundation.
