"The Bible itself makes no mention of flat earth,"
It's a stretch; pillars holding up heaven.

Where the skeptics are mistaken right off the bat is when they assume that in Judaism we consider the Torah to be a science manual. This assumption on the skeptics' part could not be further from the truth. We see the Torah as a guide in morality, ethics, and how we are expected to behave. The Torah is NOT a science book or a history book. In Judaism, we also believe that when G-d created mankind He purposely did NOT convey any knowledge regarding the spiritual realm or the physical realm (i.e. the laws of science and nature). G-d wanted mankind to figure out the way the universe and the world work by ourselves. If G-d had created mankind already knowing everything about everything (science included), then we would not have freewill.
