Savvy-Gravis Q2. It appears Cooper has delivered on his operational turnaround in re: improving gross margins and generating positive cash flows. At current run-rates Gravis is now experiencing positive cash flow. That is the bad news. The good news is (NYSE:AMB) is Gravis' largest shareholder. Gravis appears to be doing better outside North America Q1-Q2. It is also very good news as reported by David K. that the FirebirdII is at CompUSA. It is my opinion the FirebirdII, although very late to market, is the best stick on the market (price/performance/quality). The multiuser gamepad wars are about to begin. Gravis' multiple awards from U.K. based PC FORMAT are very encouraging and, again, did not include what is being touted as the best gamepad ever, the GamePad Pro. Superior advertising, packaging, POP displays, in-store promotions clearly designating each products' superior competitive advantages-superior perceived value is now more critical than ever given the highly anticipated Oct 31 launch of the Microsoft Sidewinder multiuser gamepad, Thrustmaster's Phazer, CH's force-feedback pending launch of flightsticks and even today's Nintendo 64 U.S. launch. It is all coming down to the next 120 days whether Gravis maintains its 'world leader' status. We will soon see if Pasatiempo/imagio et al have delivered on their past representations regarding the GrIP and christmas '96. AMB waiving their tender offer requirements and proceeding with their investment in Gravis was significant. Cooper has undeniably delivered for AMB. Time will tell if he also has delivered for the Gravis shareholders.
