Expeditors Names Michael G. Austin Vice President -- Personnel Development
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1998--Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NASDAQ:EXPD - news), the global logistics company, announces the addition of Michael G. Austin as Vice President -- Personnel Development, a newly-created position.
In this capacity, he is responsible for driving the company's training activities and initiatives on a global scale.
Austin joins Expeditors after a decade of management positions at Citicorp. Most recently, he was Vice President, Performance Measurement and Training Development for the Europe and North America Card Products division. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in economics and trained extensively in management and logistics while serving in the United States Navy.
