Can anyone help me understand the economics of using the seed (both the BT and the Roundup Ready) versus using insecticides and beneficials. I'd like to be able to understand the decision to use the transgenic seed over a more conventional method. Especially since the farmer cannot replant seeds from the prior years crops. Maybe breakdown the costs per acre on seed, labor and potential insecticide/herbicide sprayings and then revenues based on acres harvested/yield and price. Thank you for any help. Also, heard any more about the lawsuits by farmers and any effect it is having on sales for the 98 crop?
