Hmmm... I "know" a guy (more like a sporadic acquaintance whom I haven't seen in years) who was an NFL official. He had explained to us (in a sports bar) all about the clock, the rules, etcetera because, at the time on the TV, there was a game time dispute about the time remaining in the half. The officials had allowed 2 additional seconds to be put on the field clock even though the field clock showed that time had expired for the half. Those two seconds allowed the Cowboys (???) to kick a field goal. Perhaps the rules have changed, or perhaps technology has permitted the rules to change??? I've always thought that, no matter what one sees on television replays, the official time is still kept on the field in an official's hand held timer...

EK!!!
