There are two problems with what you said. First, republicans never raise taxes so they never pay for their spending. Second, they always cut taxes and cause the debt to soar even faster.

Every previous generation assumed that when someone voted for new spending that they'd vote for the taxes to fund that new spending. That concept ended during the Reagan years.

I'd remind you that Clinton's tax increases gave us balanced budgets. Why haven't any of the tax cuts given us balanced budgets after tax cutters promised balanced budgets?
