MCRE is not focusing on the Net at all according to management. The positive side to this is that it shows their focus on core business... the bad is that the VRML development side is growing quickly and is generally viewed as a barometer of 3D adoption for general market acceptance and use. MCRE needs to have a PM focus on this area. I spent more time looking at their 3D products. The impression I left with was strong and well laid-out interface. One area that needs to be looked at are the 3D ports to VRML 2.0. This area will generate considerable interest in '98. Other 3D key players that are strongly pursuing VRML output are Strata, Softimage(MSFT), Caligari and 3D Studio Max (ADBE). I will be attending VRML '98 conference next month and this show will be a good indicator of how fast the VRML community is moving. More on VRML to come... Out for now...
