ALL re: advertisements
Advertisements are not a gauge of wether or not a product can make
it in a low end consumer market.
Most advertisements try to entice consumer interest by price point.
It's never bothered me to see systems advertised without Zip drives because I understood that the cheapest price possible was the main consideration unless you're a DELL.
By the way a low cost system is now a Pentium 166 MMX , my guess is that the so-called NET boxes will have to come in at around $200 to be successful.
Despite all of the low cost advertising of basic systems the Zip drive popularity is still exploding.
Why should Iomega give it away when it's only been very recently
that they have been able to keep up with demand ? And that's demand at some fairly high prices. I believe that when the time is right that IOM can sell these drives ( ATAPI ) for around $35 to the OEM's.

The market belongs to IOM and they won't loose it
